I served in The U.S. Marine Corps in Guam and China during World
War Two and was recalled in 1950, training troops for Korea on
Viequez Island.
I began my career in accounting and then moved into management.
I was guest speaker at several annual conventions of the National Paper
Box ManufacturersAssociation. I was guest lecturer at Radford College.
I was guest speaker at a meeting of the National Association of Accounts.
My article on Cost Accounting in the Paper Box Industry was in the
Prentice Hall Encyclopedia of Cost Accounting. My booklet “Cost Control
By Budgeting” was published by the NPBMA.
I have managed Box Plants and Recycle Paper Mills in the USA,
Guatemala, Spain, Mexico and Puerto Rico. I was Manager-Europe
for a consulting service in Brussels, Belgium and was Financial Advisor
for a packaging conglomerate in The Dominican Republic.
While in The Dominican Republic I developed a system to make affordable
houses from laminated waste paper. About 100 units were built in The
Dominican Republic and models were built in Jamaica, Mexico and Ghana.
From 1994 to 2000 I was a consultant to the packaging industry.
From 2000 to 2008 I worked with a small box plant in Florida.
Today I am self employed.
